Cala'n Porter Beach
Rated as one of , if not the best resort beaches on Menorca, especially for smaller children due it's perfect sands, gently sloping shallows, falling into crystal clear turquoise waters. And while this makes it very popular for small children it's big enough for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots too!
The beach can be reached on foot via steps, by car with free car parking under shade or you can walk down beach road from the centre on pavement (suitable for buggies) At the beach front their are public toilets and a red cross/lifeguards post. There is a good selection of beachside Cafe bars and basic restaurants along the entire length of the promenade.
Yes many (unfit, rarely walk anywhere types) will complain about the steps to get back up from the beach, but they like everyone else adore the views from below and above. Some things in life are worth a little effort! Plenty of pausing areas.
Wheel chair users have their own toilet and floating wheelcair access to the sea with assistance.

Menorca Holiday Tip
Mahon will mostly be written on timetables, front of busus and signposts as Mao, it's correct local name. Also posted in the local papers eg Ultima Hora Menorca, Menorca towards the back pages are most of the island's bus timetables. You will nearly always find a copy of this in a cafe bar ( any day in season will do ) - make notes, please don't take paper as its there for all to read. If you are staying longer than a week take a trip on this good network and see some of the other resorts/towns first hand.
Taxi from the airport should be around 17 Euros to centre one way and take 15 minutes.
Cala en Porter - Nightlife
Out on the edge of the bay entrance is Cova d'en Xoroi (see below) one the island's most spectacular dance locations ( no noise intrustion). Live tribute acts tour the island and are on stage at Sa Paisa- Free to watch if you buy a drink and some can be very entertaining. You can walk the promenade ( Passeig Maritim )
See Bars below for details.
A walk down to the beach where the frogs perform their nightly chorus is a very relaxing change.
As with most resorts in Menorca, organised evening entertainment here is generally to be found in the resort hotels and some bars. Mahon, Ciutadella and Es Castell however offer alot more with something for everyone, but with none of the "bing drink clubbing" to be found on Ibizia and Majorca. Menorca is not Majorca but that is why many people come here!
