Menorca's Villages

Menorca is sparsely dotted with a original villages-most original farming communities with charming whitewashed farmhouse and picturesque surroundings. Most are in the South East of Menorca and connected with delightful , stone walled, single track roads called 'Camis'.

Torret

A village straight out of the picture books, traditional menorcan architecture, with lots of bougainvillea draped over the old white washed houses. Best to leave the car at the entrance roads and just wander respectfully or as part of a cycle tour. Home to highly regarded restaurants for food lovers (Sa Pedrera des Pujol, Sa Parereta d'en Doro, Pan y Vino ). From behind the unmissable watchtower you can wander down to the coast at Cala Torret.


Sa Mesquida

Tiny untouched fishing village on the north east coast with a lovely large virgin beach (Playa Sa Mesquida) and a Bar Restaurant and excellent fish restaurant - Cap Roig. Part of Cami Cavalls coastal walk. Bus from Mahon. Historical landing point of Invaders!

South East Villages

The south east corner of Menorca has often been called the 'Golden Triangle' as it contains not only idylic beach resorts but also traditional picture postcard villages, several towns, excellent restaurants and many historical sites - In fact real Menorca!

Trebaluger

An authentic inland village yet close to Punta Prima's sandy beach and vibrant Es Castell. Set in lovely countryside with lot's of walks and cycle options to the coastline eg Cala Rafalet. Charming Supermarket renowned for it's butcher's counter. Pre historic site and close to excellent restaurants in Torret ( Taxi/Car )

Sant Antoni / Cala Longa

Lies opposite Mahon offering magnificent bay views. A well to do area where original fishermans houses nestle amongst large luxury houses and summer villas. Water Taxi services to travel across the bay. En route to La mola attraction and car ride to virgin beach of Sa Mesquida. Local attraction is Golden Pond house reputed as Admirals Nelsons' love nest for Lady Hamilton.

Llucmacanes

An attractive residential village, several of the former farmhouses have been turned into homes and holiday rentals. A little supermarket. There are walks and cycling routes in the surrounding attractive countryside.

Pou Nou

One of several villages / hamlets in the countryside around Sant Lluis and Es Castell. Part of a network of lovely walks and cycling in traditional Menorcan landscapes.

Llucmacanes

Fornells

A watersports and restaurant favourite. The village with it's speciality seafood restaurants is located at the entrance to a huge enclosed natural bay whose protected waters make it perfect for all manner of sail based 'messing about'. More like a large salt water lake, the wind conditions here are great for beginners of anything that floats on water. Very pleasant for lunch time and evening drinks and meals alongside the harbour quay. Lot's of boat excursions and activities are based here. Perfect for a quiet authentic Menorca stay. Mountain Bike Hire. Watersports include Jetski,Waterskiing,Windsurfing, Dinghy,Kayaks and Diving.

San Climent ( Sant Climente )

Located on the main road (ME-12) from Mahon to Cala en Porter is well worth a visit if you are in the area. "Famous" for Es Casino Bar-Restaurant (some of the best tasting/value) Menu del Dias on the island. Great Music nights: Tuesday evening improv Jazz in backrooms of the Es Casino Bar-Restaurant. Last shop on the right of main street heading to Cala en Porter is a traditional bakers where you can experience tasty bread /pasteries made in traditional wood fired ovens.
