Getting About Menorca
Advice of getting around by bus and taxi.
Menorca is split up into different regional authorities which also dictate that bus and taxi services are divided up by several companies and generally tied to a region. So sometimes it can appear to make things more confusing that it really is.
Buses
If you want to travel from one end of the island to the other you will need to change either at Ciutadella or Mahon whose bus terminals act as a hubs for local services. Dress respectfully, no bare tops -wear a T shirt! Check websites for latest routes, fares and conditions.

Taxis
Taxis may not use meters (hough are required to do so ) . Instead fare prices are regulated based on distance, though journeys crossing a boundary into another operating area may have an extra charge. Check price before starting off. Your driver should be looking up the price on a table, if not ask to see it.
Menorca Holiday Tips
There is a comfortable (day and night ) Water Taxi service available between Es Castell and Mahon harbours. Check prices locally but around 10 Euros one way for an adult and is a great way to travel between the two locations - A mini boat tour in one!. Tel 616 428 891 for reservations.
Water Taxi

Vastly overpriced in our opinion-in fact local newspaper ran article about this in 2009. Ask but don't be suprised to pay 25 Euros min per day ( to this add helmet hire ) , which is not much less than a small hire car.
Car Hire
The island has so much to offer in a compact area that with a hire car you can enjoy your beach holidays and enjoy a lot, lot more...
