Menorca in Spring
Spring time ( late March-April ) is a wonderful time to visit the island. Before the heat of the summer lies across the island, the air is lighter, the views sharper as if the winter has "cleaned the air" and of course the spring colours make the landscape so much much more vivid.
Menorca Tips
Outside of the towns the island wakes up slowly so you'll need a hire car as resort food shops will probably not yet be open.
How to get there?-Monarch airlines fly a 'winter' time table to the island. Also if you have time on you hands why not travel via Palma de Majorca ( lots of cheap flights there ) and travel to the island ( Alcudia to Ciutadella) on fast ferry. Plus there are lots of cheap hotels rooms to be had in Palma at that time of year.

Were the photos really taken in Springtime?. The (lack of ) leaves on the trees tells no lies and you can see more of the beautiful buildings too!
From early April onwards temperatures start to climb from 20-22C. Welcome the early summer sun and enjoy this beautiful island in full bloom. The lemon trees branches are breaking from the weight of fruit. Wild jasmin and orange blossom scents the air and island welcomes many a new four legged friend.
Spring is the time to discover and re-discover Menorca, a welcome short break after the dull wet grey of the UK winter to feel the sun on your face again, minus the overcoats. A time to enjoy T-shirt walks and wander upon isolated places of beauty. To walk along valley and coastal tracks and emerge in bays of empty beaches for a refreshing dip.
To enjoy a meal and a drink next to the mediteranen and looking around to feel a certain comfort in the world when one see the Menorcans too can be too pink from the sun!
Walking and Cycling
Menorca in spring is a spray of wild flowers. In 1993 Menorca was delcared a UNESCO Biosphere reserve with over 40% of this beautiful island protected by law keeping its natural beauty preserved. There are now some excellent walking guides, and the ways and paths are now signposted. There is a an extensive network of off main road cycling routes to explore and ideal for spring time.
