    Overview

S'Algar was one of the first purpose built tourist resorts in Menorca and features two hotels, four low height apartment complexes mixed in with lots of private villas. All this is neatly landscaped with palm trees and garden areas in a neatly layed out road system . The resort focuses on quiet relaxing holidays with a sporting element so has no real emphasis on Nightclubs or Bars though a handful are available. Most entertainments are in the Hotels or Apartment complexes.

S'Algar is unusual in that it and has no beach but provides some attractive sunbathing platforms and access to the sea for swimming- see photos below. There is a pretty beach at Cala Alcaufar 15-25 minutes walk ( five minute drive) south and an excellent large beach at Punta Prima ( courtesy buses run to Punta Prima from the Las Palmeras apartments and the two hotels )

S'Algar is a haven for watersport enthusiasts. Club S'Algar Diving, provides water skiing, windsurfing and jet skiing. Divers can be hired too to help you explore the underwater caves and coral reefs along this favourite part of the coastline for divers

Given the extent of the private villas most shopping, entertainment and amenities are provided in the 2 hotels & apartment complexes where guests are unlikely to have a car. These are also available to non -residents. There are supermarkets, restaurants, bars and a disco.

An ideal resort for couples or families looking for a fairly sporty holiday. trips out in their fast rib boats and parascending.

Besides these small resort supermarkets many more shops can to be found in the nearby town of Sant Lluis (via Bus ) and just a little further Mahon-the capital.

There are two restaurants in the squares of S'Algar village , offering a variety of menus and children's menus plus a Pizza restaurant ( wood-fired) at the Las Palmeras apartments complex. There are also restaurants at the other S'Algar Hotel which are available to non-residents.
There is a small supermarket in the village square and another small shop stocking essentials at the Las Palmeras apartments.

During the season there is evening entertainment every day except Sundays at the San Luis Hotel , starting with a children's mini-disco, again available to all.
