Horses, Riding and Shows
The horse holds a special place in the hearts of the islanders. You can enjoy the island scenery from on top of and behind (in a carriage) a horse. Pony rides or ride through enchanting woods, gallop along the beach for older children. Riders of all levels are catered for.
If riding is not your thing there are horse shows, visits to stables and gentle pony rides for younger children.

Club Sant Jaime - Waterpark, Amusements and Entertainment
A play and relaxation centre in the Son Bou Gardens area and open to all. Attractions include water chutes, various pools including baby/toddler pool. Use of the pools is for anyone who makes use of the bar & restaurant. The two water chutes are on a pay as you go basis. Large shaded bar area with restaurant factilities. Features live acts (music tribute acts-a drink is entrance fee) and other events starting at 21:30 most evenings.
There are grassed gardens area with loungers for parents to sun bath and relax.

Childrens Entertainment
Castillo Menorca
An out if town childrens entertainment area set in grassed gardens combined with an outlet store with lots of parking. Ideal place for the children to loose their energy and mums to well, do what mums do best at outlet stores. The outdoor entertainment has lots to climb on,swim in,bounce on and swing from. Bordering the outside area is a for menorca large Snack Bar with internet access. .
Open May - October. Open 10.00am-7.00pm. ME-1 Km point 35 - 7 km from Ciutadella.
There is a toddlers play area next to the Cafeteria so mums and dads can have a drink and keep watch. A pool for swiming with water chute, a pool for boating and shallow pool for splashing around in. The extensive grassed area has a varierty of small to big things to climb. Four big trampolines and other 'boucing fun'. Mini Golf, Sand pits. Climbing wall. Some of the equipment is old but that won't put the children off.
There is a large outlet shop with branded goods plus local 'souvenir' items. Next door is the Costa Nova Karting track , with decent sized track. Karting open from 10 am untill sunset.
Lloc de Menorca Zoo
Has grown into a delightful place for young and old to get close to an expanding range of native and more exotic ( smaller ) animals in very pleasant surroundings. Features several walk through landscaped enclosures where animals roam free and small children can see easily. Enough to entertain children and adult animal lovers alike.

Fort Malborough
Island history: Fort Malborough is an unusual 7 sided defence fort located in Cala de Sant Esteve on the south east edge of the island.

Fortalleza de La Mola
Even if you are not into history the location is scenically great, and children will love the myriad of underground tunnels/rooms to let out energy (Â perfectly safe ). Great place to visit after 6 p.m to enjoy more atmospheric light and watch the evenings sunset over the harbour. There is a little bathing bay just before entrance and you will be see an attractive part of Menorca seldom seen by visitors.
You can get the Water Taxi from Es Castell for a special trip across harbour.
Opening times: July and August: from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. June to September 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May and October, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From November to April, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. closed Mondays. The approximate duration of the visit is 2 hours. Guided tours are available for individuals and groups. Individual audio-guides are available in different languages.
Wet Fun - Activities in, on and under Water
Watersports and fun
Waterskiing is available though not wide spread and some resort beaches will offer local services with banna boats,paracending to the more sedate old favourite - Pedalos. Watersports centres can be found in Fornells,S'Algar and Son Xoriguer.
Water and Splash Parks on Menorca
For those of you with children or the child still inside you there a four SMALL scale water parks on Menorca. Two located on the west coast, one in the south east and one north east.
They are not spectacular by standards in other holiday destinations but they do offer the chance to let the children play while parents can "take a rest". Note opening/closing times and any height restrictions!

Is a collection of wet and dry fun. Water slides and pools for big and small with trampolines and bouncy castles for smaller ones. Water Park and Karting - Aquarock Cala en Bosch
Aquarock is a collection of water fun, electronic amusements, trampolines and Go Karting. Staff are vigilant and the facilities clean and modern. On site Cafeteria with sensible prices. The waterpark is open daily (May - October) from 10:30 until 18:00 children under two are free. Over 11's count as adults. After 15:30 the water park entrance price is halved but closes at 18:00. Afterwards you can visit the nearby marina with its other childrens attractions ( eg Goody fun park ) with relaxation areas for mums and dads, have something to eat or just watch the world go by. Of the two west coast waterparks this is perhaps the better one to visit.

Family Snorkelling
The pristine waters of Menorca are a real holiday memory. They are amazingly clear so even with just a simple snorkel you will see lots, not murky haze. And because the water is in such good condition you'll see lots of fish too. Many, many of the resort beaches have shallow sandy bottoms fringed with rocks, ideal for young snorkellers. Organised trips can make a great family day out with as a Snorkel Safari or stop off as part of a Boat excusrions. There are also marine reserves around Menorca where the marine life is even more abundent.
Boat Excursions and Trips - Departing Mahon harbour
Subject to weather there are half day ( Don Joan to north and south coasts) and harbour trips (Yellow Catamarans & Don Joan) taking in the historical and geographical sites of Mahon harbour. Due to the water clarity the glass bottom boats really can help you see a lot under and above the water. Trips circa 1 hour around the harbour and half day trips-see below.
Don Joan - a large modern glass bottom catamaran with 3 decks. Level 1 is submarine level in the hulls with glass panels for underwater viewing. Level 2 is the main deck with a bar selling drinks and snacks. Level 3 is the sun deck.
Half day trips along the eastern coast of Menorca departing from Mahon are also available on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.45am and 2.30pm. Trips will go northwards to Es Grau and Isla d´en Colon ( excellent scenery) or Southwards to Binisafuller. There will be swimming stops and time to lay on a beach.
Yellow Catamarans ( 2 Boats ) - offer comentated trips around the harbour taking in the significant sights.

These trips take in more bays as they as much closer than the Ciutadella port boats so use bus or drive to Calan Bosch if you want to see more.Subject to weather there are 2 glass bottom boats making trips taking in the southern coast line and bays with it's virgin beaches upto Trebaluger/Cala Escorxada. Usually with swimming stops ( at Cala Galdana ,Cala Trebaluger,Cala Binigaus ) and an extended stay ( circa 1-2hr mins ) at one of the bays ( Son Saura or Cala 'n Turqueta ) on route. Trips last circa 3.5 hours. First trip mornings is:10:00-13:30, second trip afternoons is: 14-17:30 note p.m itinery may be different.
Departures from Cala en Bosch marina. Both boat companies ( Amigos and Don Pancho ) travel the same route at roughly the same time for safety reasons-so pick the boat/itinery you like the best!
They might also offer a sunset trip up towards Ciutadella/ Pont den Gil as the sun sets behind Majorca's northern Mountains.
