S'Algar is neatly landscaped with palm trees and garden areas part of an original residential area. S'Algar focuses on quieter relaxing holidays with just a few hotels (that try to be all on site self-contained) , apartments and aparthotels.

S'Algar is unusual in that it and has no beach but provides some sunbathing platforms (paid entry) and access to the sea for swimming. There is a small beach at pretty inlet at Cala Alcaufar 15-25 minutes walk ( along coastalpath ) or five minute drive south and an excellent large beach at Punta Prima ( courtesy buses run to Punta Prima from the Las Palmeras apartments and the two hotels )

A resort for couples or families looking for a quiet resort ( maybe as a base with car )

Sea Access

S'Algar lies in the south east corner of Menorca with its numerous attractions for relaxing holidays - Pretty villages, Vineyards, Harbour side towns

S'Algar Activities

Water sports : S'Algar is good for under water enthusiasts. Club S'Algar Diving, provides full schooling Divers can be hired too to help you explore the underwater caves and coral reefs along this favourite part of the coastline for divers. They also off trips out in their fast rib boats There are more Watersports in Punta Prima ( inclusing Windusrfing, Kayaking, Surfing,SUP )

S'Algar Diving located at the waters edge offer a wide choice: All varieties of activities under the water and on and above the water with fast boats.. This part of the coast offers some excellent diving areas including Menorcas renowned spectacular underwater caves. The watersports centre is located at S'Algar Diving. Some of the caves reach back quite a way inland! - see See and Do section for details.

S'Algar - Nightlife

Organised evening entertainment here is generally to be found in the resort hotels and some Bars. Mahon, Ciutadella and Es Castell however offer alot more with something for everyone, but with none of the "bing drink clubbing" to be found on Ibizia and Majorca. Menorca is not Majorca but that is why many people come here!

Definitely no nightclubs in S'Algar but a chain brand beachclub ( Dj Music, Club, Boutique )- purobeach. Along the coast in Binibequer / Binibeca there are some chilled out bars ( Bar Papua, ) with live Music in summer. There are no discos only small bars. Entertainment is in the larger hotels also open to non residents if you buy drinks.

Nearby

More music and bars at Punta Prima & Sant Lluis ( musikbox ) ( on bus routes )

Mahon or Es Castell is a bus ride / taxi ride away for a lot more.

For livelier / 'younger' entertainment visit Mahon where the chill out and dance clubs are located together down in the harbour area and it the old city centre.

Great bars & dance 'til dawn night clubs and music venues in Mahon. Taxi back late at night ( ~ 22 Euro )

TIP Want to visit a Club or Music bar? Don't forget you are on Menorcan time, nothing starts to happen until after 11 pm

Does S'Algar have enough shops?

Unlike beach resorts, this town's shops will close for Siesta ( ~ 13-17:00). Shops tend to be busiest during the evening when people will also meet up in the Cafe-Bars.

Within S'Algar - There is little clothes shopping available in S'Algar.

S'Algar Supermarkets

Some Supermarkets may shut for Siesta

Local supermarkets are seasonal and will be ~ 20% more expensive than out of resort.

There is a small supermarket in the 'village' square by waterfront and another small shop stocking essentials at the Las Palmeras apartments. A large Eroski Hypermarket in nearby Sant Lluis and a smaller very popular supermarket Sa Botega at S'Ullastrar.

All the Big shop supermarkets plus online delivery availability .
