S'Algar is neatly landscaped with palm trees and garden areas part of an original residential area. S'Algar focuses on quieter relaxing holidays with just a few hotels (that try to be all on site self-contained) , apartments and aparthotels.
S'Algar is unusual in that it and has no beach but provides some sunbathing platforms (paid entry) and access to the sea for swimming. There is a small beach at pretty inlet at Cala Alcaufar 15-25 minutes walk ( along coastalpath ) or five minute drive south and an excellent large beach at Punta Prima ( courtesy buses run to Punta Prima from the Las Palmeras apartments and the two hotels )
A resort for couples or families looking for a quiet resort ( maybe as a base with car )

S'Algar - Nightlife
Organised evening entertainment here is generally to be found in the resort hotels and some Bars. Mahon, Ciutadella and Es Castell however offer alot more with something for everyone, but with none of the "bing drink clubbing" to be found on Ibizia and Majorca. Menorca is not Majorca but that is why many people come here!
Definitely no nightclubs in S'Algar but a chain brand beachclub ( Dj Music, Club, Boutique )- purobeach. Along the coast in Binibequer / Binibeca there are some chilled out bars ( Bar Papua, ) with live Music in summer. There are no discos only small bars. Entertainment is in the larger hotels also open to non residents if you buy drinks.
Nearby
More music and bars at Punta Prima & Sant Lluis ( musikbox ) ( on bus routes )
Mahon or Es Castell is a bus ride / taxi ride away for a lot more.
For livelier / 'younger' entertainment visit Mahon where the chill out and dance clubs are located together down in the harbour area and it the old city centre.
TIP Want to visit a Club or Music bar? Don't forget you are on Menorcan time, nothing starts to happen until after 11 pm
