What to expect? Holidays on Menorca

Holidays with fewer compromises...

Too often you will find that holiday destinations force you to make difficult choices. If you wanted safe beaches complete with all tourist facilities then you would have to forget dreaming about lying practically alone on remoter natural beaches. If you wanted to enjoy sun filled mediteranean lifestyle, browsing and shopping, or dancing the night away then you would have to forget about walking or cycling in beautiful, ever changing landscapes, alive with wildlife and ancient history.

Menorca is considerably quieter than Mallorca or Ibiza and deliberately tuned to smaller scale tourist development that does not impact nature - something that it's Balearic neighbours perhaps regret.

The Island is perhaps more suited to those with younger families and couples wanting to combine beautiful sand rich beaches, coastal and countryside scenery with a lighter sprinkling of nightlife. Even the larger purpose built holiday resorts are peaceful, as there is no over emphasis on loud nightlife. Menorca is rather more tuned into relaxation and outdoor activities than drinking and clubbing into the early hours.

In July and August Menorca fills out with younger French,Spanish and German couples and groups of friends who Beach Hop and enjoy all the watersports and outdoors.

Menorca is ideal for families with younger children who want children friendly resorts where there is less emphasis on drinking and clubs. The island is also very appealing to romantic and scenery seeking couples young and old who want the perfect beach holiday and more besides. It has purposely avoided the brashness and noise of heavily developed mass packaged holiday style resorts prefering a balanced mix of nature, relaxation and tradition.

Few holiday destinations have managed to retain their original charm, attraction and culture under the pressure of tourism. Menorca is one of the few exceptions and is typically less than a 2.5 hour flight from the U.K.
