(updated Nov 2022)
Es Grau is located on the North East Coast in wild and untouched coastline.
Es Grau is a typical Menorcan fishing village, unspoilt and semi-secluded sat in a nature reserve ( S'Abufera Nature Park ) There are three bar restaurants, one waterside restaurant, a small but well stocked mini supermarket.
Es Grau is all about the natural location. There is pristine coast line and the S'Abufera nature park on the door step with lots of walking and mountain biking routes.
S' Albufera Nature Reserve
S'Albufera Parc Natural - is a wonderful place for an early morning or evening walk (avoiding the summer heat). Footpaths lead, through pleasant lakelandscapes and woodlands to the sand dunes behind the beautiful beach at Es Grau. Walk on further to the fishing village of Es Grau to enjoy beachside sunsets at the two waterside Cafe Bars.
Very natural unspoilt beach especially good for smaller children due it's unbelievable shallows. And while this makes it very popular for children it's big enough for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots too! Locals will visit on weekends otherswise the beach is generally empty. Pedalos, kayaks ,SUP Boards and sailing craft can be hired from the centre of the main beach. Children will love to explore the area behind the beach and the 'island' in the middle.
The beach can be reached via nearby car parks or on foot from the fishing village or through the S'Albufera park.
Nightime Entertainment
Es Grau has three Cafe bars Restaurants and Restaurant Tamarindos to while away the evenings with good food and conversation
TIP:Mahon will mostly be written on timetables, front of buses and signposts as Maó, it's local name. If you are staying longer than a week take a trip on this good network and see some of the other sights, resorts/towns and attractions.
Es Grau has a mediterranean climate characterised by hot dry summers. Menorca has pleasant cooling Summer breeze. The sea temperatures at Es Grau will be around 22-26 degrees in Summer. In October the water is still warm. Spring time ( early March to April ) will have sunny days with temperatures around 20 and above , ideal for sightseeing, walking, cycling and horseriding activities.
Just three Bars Restaurants to share with the locals, One at the beaach ( Bar Es Grau) , one in the Village looking out onto the bay ( Bars Es Moll ) and in the Village ( Cafe Bernadet = good fish )
