Where to stay - Our Family Resort Picks
On Menorca there is no need to avoid the excess of other youthful partygoers in the sun. Teenagers are safe to wander off on their own.
I've experienced Menorca as a child and taken my children there from babies onwards. Here are my personal top 5 menorca family where to stay resorts tips. Each is different, in their setting and on varying emphasis on independent or packaged holidays.
What all these resorts have in common though are fine sandy beaches, with safe warm waters, Red Cross, beachside toilets and bar / restaurants catering for children. Plus attractions to keep the beach rats happy away from the beach and where Mums and Dads can keep and eye on them while relaxing with a drink.
If you've only experienced coarse brown sandy beaches, backed by an unattractive skyline of hotels with little natural green scenery then you are in for a treat. Menorca does not suffer with neon nightclub excesses, over commercialization or has sold out it's nature and original charm to tourism.

Arenal den Castell
One of Menorca's more touristically developed family friendly resorts with an above average offering for young children . This resort lies above a horseshoe bay with an almost enclosing headland on the horizon. It also means, the water here is shallower, calmer and warmer due to the very shallow falls into the water.
Cala en Bosch is the closet thing Menorca has to a 'large' purpose built holiday resort . Has most varied accommodation (budget/styles)
There is an Aquapark, karting track and varying childrens entertainments, indoors and outdoors. Boats trips along the south coast so mums can experience a little bit of beach paradise too. The quieter areas to the west of the Marina have holiday villas and a commercial area serving families who prefer self caterering.
Where to stay picks in Cala'n Bosch / Cala en Bosch
Cala en Porter has probably THE best beach for children on Menorca. Set in a large beautiful inlet the beach is protected and you can walk out many many meters on the fine sandy bottom. Villas domminate here with just a few Hotels/Aparthotels. Small fun park for younger children, water sports and MTB for older children. Lots more to see and do closeby with easy bus connections. Short Transfer.
Binibeca is distinctly relaxed, Authentic Menorca with most accommodation in Villas. A family favourite for regular Menorca visitors. Sandy, shallow bottomed beach with pushchair
The Restaurant, bars and commercial areas are at the resorts two ends. Binibquer Vell and Binibeuer Nou which blends into neighbouring Cala Torret. Short Transfer.
