is located on the south east coast. Approximately 20 mins., from the Airport. Around this area you will often see 'Bini' used in places names reflecting the Moorish occupation (Bini means 'belonging to the son of' from Ben Arabic for son. This place has several spelling variations including Binissafúller
Use the Interactive Maps to take a detailed visual tour, with ariel views complete with additional photos and useful holiday information.
The small resort of Binisafuller/Binissafuller/Binisafua is popular for those seeking a relaxed authentic Menorca holiday experience in either a Villa or Apartment. Binisafuller is split into two areas. There is a larger residential area which borders Binibeca called Binisafusa Roters and the other side of the beach which is more developed (Binisafuller Playa) for tourism with a small commercial area, Villas and small apartament complexes. There are no hotels here.
The natural coarse sand beach is at the head of a protective inlet lined with traditional fishing boats offers great snorkelling with lots of fish amongst the rocks.
This is a tiny beach between Binissafuller and Cap den Font - follow the coast road
For explorers this whole stretch of coast has many tiny little bays which are delightful for an evening swim with turquoise pools of water. Take swin shoes to clamber over rocks.
At Binibequer Vell on the eastern boundary there is a small array of souvenir and clothes shops in pleasant surroundings, a suprisingly large supermarket, cash point. Cala Torret at the eastern end of neighbouring Binibeca has yet more Bars and restarants. La Boyera Restaurant is recommended for lovers of Thai food.
There is large hypermarket in nearby Sant Lluis and a smaller very popular supermarket Sa Botega at S'Ullastrar, on the way to Sant Lluis.
For Self caterers, visit the large Eroski supermarket at the Poligno outside Sant Lluis on the road towards Mahon. The independent Cafe Bar has not only an excellent value and tasty Menu del Dias/Buffet (witness many locals at the tables! ) but you can take it away too!
There are some lovely drives along idylic narrow country roads through the country side to the villages of Llucamanens and Torret. Torret is picture postcard pretty, leave the car and just walk through it. There are also some highly regarded restaurants ( Sa Pedrera des Pujol, Sa Parereta d'en Doro, Pan y Vino ) . Llucamances is a pretty hamlet and just a further short trip to El Grill, a favourite rustic Bar Restaurant (in old farmhouse ) on the airport access road ( you passed it as you left the airport !) where you will find some of the islands best grilled meat dishes and chill out terrace for evenings.
Visit La Rueda Bar-Restaurant at Sant Lluis, which has a counter with nearly 3 meters of delicous Tapas.
Just next door is Cap den Font which is a haven for divers , with many underwater sea caves along this stretch of coast
There are some fabulous quality restaurants in the pretty nearby villages of Torret and S'Ullastrar.
There are delightful narrow track lanes all around the north of Binisafuller to explore - even the thwack of a cricket bat on ball at the nearby Menorca Cricket Club along the road to Biniparrell and Llucmacanes.
Along the coast between Es Canutells and Binibeca lies the pretty 'hidden' cove of Cala Binipartrix. A limestone gorge with a sandy beach at the end in a sheltered cove. Park and 10 min walk through the gorge bottom to the beach. (as a virgin beach there may well be piles of dead seaweed so take a little 'clearing tool' - if you don't like walking over it!
There are some simple play areas for small children at Binibequer Vell, though they are not shaded.
An attractive and well done mock up of a ' traditional fishing village' with small selection of (evening) Restaurants and Bars. Though it can be loud if you are staying there as voices and particularly ladies high heels! fill the narrow passage ways. There is also Bar with a pool to use if you buy a drink (located in the commercial centre)
Relax while children enjoy a swim? a pool is available at the bar restaurant Es Furat and is free providing you buy a drink or snack.
Remember this location is written also as Binisafua, and commonly written as Binissafúller locally on timetables and road signs.
Bus, Taxi and Hire Car Detailed getting about infos.
Mahon will mostly be written on timetables, signposts as Maó it's correct local name. Also posted in the local papers eg Ultima Hora Menorca, Menorca towards the back pages are most of the islands bus timetables. You will nearly always find a copy of this in a spanish cafe bar ( any day in season will do ) - make notes, please don't take paper as its there for all to read. If you are staying longer than a week take a trip on this good network and see some of the other resorts/towns first hand.
Bus No. 94 operates mid June to Mid September only but is daily and goes all the way to Punta Prima, the biggest resort in this area with it's superb sandy beach. Bus connections from Punta Prima to Sant Lluis and Mahon.
Bus No. 93 can be caught from Binibeca (Binibequer) Vell for a connection to Mahon - only three a day make the 20 minute trip into Mahon but good value at 1.60€ one way.
A one way journey by taxi from the airport should be around 20 Euros max. ( check price before starting )
During the May-mid October running several times a day, the mini "road train" follows the coast road to the nearby resort of Punta Prima. Approximately 7€ per person for a return trip.
As with most smaller resorts in Menorca, evening entertainment here is generally to be found in the resort bars but nothing that would ever compare to the neon jungle of the popular resorts along the south coast of Majorca. Mahon and Ciutadella however offer something for everyone, but with none of the "binge drink clubbing" to be found on Ibizia and Majorca.
A village straight out of the picture books. Torret oozes traditional menorcan architecture, with lots of bougainvillea draped over the old white washed houses. Best to leave the car at the entrance roads and just wander respectfully or as part of a cycle tour. Home to highly regarded restaurants for food lovers (Sa Pedrera des Pujol, Sa Parereta d'en Doro, Pan y Vino ). From behind the unmissable watchtower you can wander down to the coast at Torret de Baix.

If you are mobile, this little village ( 2km from west Mahon ) is a stop off point along attractive, stone walled country lanes to and from the coast. A residential village, many of the former farmhouses have been turned into homes and holiday homes. A little supermarket, plus two tiny atmospheric (open evenings only) restaurants. Es Nit in 300 year old farmhouse (international) and Sa Vinya (Menorcan) . A third larger restaurant, Halliseys has recently opened up here relocating fom the Son Parc Golf Club. All offer a very different experience to any beach resort restaurants for something more special. There are walks into the nearby attractive countryside.
Mahon has a great mediterranean charm around the centre and harbour. Busy pavement Cafes and Bars, superb fruit and fish markets and all enclosed in a maze of narrow streets with architecture and many reminders of its Georgian past. In addition to the traditional the town offers a myriad of stylish shops and bars. Along the whole length of the harbour quayside (Moll de Llevant) there is an electic collection of Cafes, Bars and Restaurants for all pockets and styles. A spectacular setting above the huge natural harbour with ships and boats of every shape and sizes.
Is a mostly residential town with a good mix of little shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Its most well known sights are Moli de Dalt the island's only functioning windmill (open am for visits) and "La Rueda" a popular Tapas Bar & Restauant. In pretty neighbouring S'Uestra and Torret there are some excellent high class restaurants. Mahons trotting and karting track are also near by.
TIP Visit the large Euroski SYP Supermarket here at the Poligno ( commercial area) for a good food selection (english / german food items stocked) and keen prices. The Supermarket's (independent ) Cafeteria Bar offers a great menu del Dia/take away hot food in air conditioned surroundings.
Es Castell - is a delightful harbour town with a great mix of little shops, cafes, bars, Restaurants and clubs to suit all tastes, price ranges and styles. Not just the extensive harbour areas but also in the many side streets. In the main Cala Fons harbour the old fishermans caves have been adapted by various Bars and Restaurants. Es Castell is a very popular eating place for lunchtime Menu del Dias and a great place to while away the summer evenings.
Located on the main road (ME-12) from Mahon to Cala en Porter is well worth a visit if you are in the area. "Famous" for Es Casino Bar-Restaurant (some of the best tasting/value) Menu del Dias on the island. Great Music nights: Tuesday evening improv Jazz in backrooms of the Es Casino Bar-Restaurant. Lovely converted Farmhouse Musupta Cusi for Tapas and drinks. Both places are next to each other. Last shop on the right of main street is a traditional bakers where you can experience tatsy bread made in real wood fired ovens. Home to one of the best restaurants on the island ,Es Moli Foc in Carrer Sant Lorenc.
If you are an independent traveller and waiting to catch a flight then come here for for final drinks and meals in a more personal environment. Airport is just 5 mins drive away. Tabaconist shop and 6 am cafes too!
