Bassa Verda – zona natural de Menorca...
Sa Bassa Verda, translated as The Green Pond in English, is a idylic temporary pond that reaches the peak of its life cycle during winter months (drying up completely during the the hot summer months ). Deep in the lovely woods of the La Vall area of North West Menorca. Great hike with views of coast and inland.
Routes
On Foot : from Cala Algaiarens (...more) / Es Bot beaches Car Parks - uphill ascent
To reach the path that leads to the pond, head to the left of the car park, moving behind it in a north-easterly direction along the marked trail Cami de Cavalls (...more) .
Walk across the fields, passing through three gates- the last gate (narrowest) , marks the beginning of a gradual ascent. Keep going. Shortly after, you'll reach a fork in the path where it divides into two tracks. The Cami de Cavalls goes off to the right, BUT take the left track. Keep on this well-trodden path as it ascends through more fields.
Keep going until you enter the woods where the path climbs further through the trees and becomes rockier. There are stunning views of the valley below, stretching all the way back to the Algaiarens Beaches and the sea.
