The fortress of Isabel II or 'la Mola' , built between 1850 and 1875 is one of the best examples of military architecture. Built to protect the strategic harbour from the English and French, the fortress was never attacked, therefore it is in relatively good state of preservation.

By car: From the roundabout in Mahon harbour, follow the Me3, carretera la Mola, right to the end, about 7 km.

By boat: From May to October the company WATER TAXI offers a personalised service (max. 10 seats) with departures from Mahon harbour or Cales Fonts, by prior booking 616 428 891. Minimum two adults.
